We had a short introductory adventure to help 2 old characters (Jon & Crystal's) exit the party and their new characters join. Additionally, Sean also created a character to have available to jump in on the Saturday nights he is able to participate, so we worked him in as well.

"You seem trustworthy, would you care to join our party?"

During the evening's festivities, Crystal's She-Ork, Sledge, was approached by 3 Half-Orks (two males, one female) and engaged in serious conversation with them. No other members of the party as of yet know anything about her mysterious visitors except that Sledge has apparently disappeared with one of them into the Inn and hasn't been seen for hours.

Felicity (Justin) and Tavor (Jon), responded to a request for help at the local temple of Pelor. When they arrived, the reliquary of the temple appeared to have been broken into and one of the temple's artifacts had been tampered with. Some of the temple guard, and the thieves which had attempted to apparently steal the artifact, were killed. Tavor unfortunately was dominated by the artifact as well, as it had unleashed a wave of debilitating power. Felicity, unfortunately, did not see what happened to her comrade in arms as the temple elders tried to help Tavor become unbound to the item. He was witnessed as being swallowed whole by a gigantic pulse of energy before disappearing with the artifact altogether.

The incident was downplayed by the temple clergy so as not to panic the villagers. Felicity reported the bad news to the rest of party (minis Sledge who still hasn't been seen), who were greatly distressed by the loss of their companion, distress that was noticed by a new person that had shown up with a traveling companion to the village festivities. Felicity, Drogo, Kiva, and Kalindor were introduced to Sethadrin Ke Na d'leifstrah (Sean), and Elmmorra (Crystal). The first, an Eladrin Ranger, the other, a Druid who exhibits feline-like qualities (slitted eyes, small claws on her hands, etc). Sethadrin made inquiries about their distress and learned of the loss of their companion Tavor.

Seeking room and board for the evening, and further conversation with their new acquaintances, Sethadrin and Elmmorra joined the others to go over to the Eternal Flame Inn and inquire about lodging. The Inn-keeper informed them he had someone abruptly vacate one of his roomiest and expensive suites, but someone had snatched the room up just as quickly. If they wished to stay, they could see if the others were up for sharing the space. It was at this point that the group was introduced to Antaris (Jon) an Eladrin Elf adventurer, and his mentor Eldrad (also Eladrin) who had purchased the room (12gp a night by the way Jon). :)

The group sat down and discussed the possibilities of Seth and Elmmorra sharing the suite, and also made some more discoveries about the history of their Darkling friend Drogo (who appeared significantly uncomfortable in the company of the Elves). Discussion went on into the evening, and an agreement was reached, not only about the room, but also about traveling as a group.  The common room then closed up, and everyone stumbled to their rooms for some well-deserved sleep.

Small note. I had forgot to mention this during the session, primarily because I was tired, but after the "incident" at the temple involving Tavor, the Baron Van Grimm and retinue disappeared from the village activities.
