This is just a summary to keep you all updated on what happened in the introductory adventure we played to get Justin involved with D&D and earn a new Geek Badge for him.

The party consisted of Rob (Kalindor), Kay (Kiva), and Justin (Felicity).

The group wrapped things up in the graveyard, taking notes about the tomb of St. Joseph and the grave of Johann Van Grimm to follow-up with for later.

The party then participated in the festival games, which proved rather exciting. First off was an archery competition, the party and 3 other village challengers competed for prizes in this event. Kay & Justin advanced to the semi-finals but ultimately lost to Rob.

Next up was the close quarters combat event. Everyone advanced to the semi-finals, with an honorable mention to Justin who was disarmed by his challenger due to a critical fumble, but managed to rally himself, regain his weapon, and beat his opponent. :) Kay went on to win this event with the championship stage going into several tense "sudden-death" rounds of which she landed the winning blow against her opponent.

Justin then participated in one of the festival's drinking games, of which he won! Apparently his character can't shoot or fight, but she can drink your enemies under the table. :)

Justin also continued working on his side-quest of finding someone to convert to the faith of Pelor, of which he is courageously pursuing.

Later that day a small raiding party of Goblins, attracted to the festival and hoping to make off with treasure and food, was taken on by the group. Very little damage was incurred by the Goblins, although they seriously injured one of the villagers who was then helped by Justin. Town officials were very happy for the group's help in defending against the Goblins, and commented that Goblinoid activity appeared to be increasing in the valley.

After wrapping things up regarding the raid, the party entered into the evening's festivities of which there was food, dancing, and drinking all around. However, as the sun was setting, the Baron Van Grimm showed up with his retinue of servants/bodyguards and caused a rather uncomfortable stir amongst the villagers. It was at this point we quit for the evening.
