Start Chapter 2: In the Shadows of Amn

The party bid farewell to Windbourne valley, and started off on their journey to West Haven. The trip is estimated (upon horseback) to take up to about 3-4 days of travel.

Their path has them skirting the Wealdath forest and the Starspire Mountains. They made good time finding a nice campsite some distance away from the cursed valley.

During their first night of camping, a rogue Goblin attempted to steal food from the party’s stash. Kiva and Gnorm caught the Goblin and discovered that it was part of a small clan that was wiped out in the tragedy of Windbourne valley. Giving it some food and extra clothing they sent it on its way south where it was hoping to regroup with a larger clan.

Drogo Blackfoot, the Darkling, caught up with the party and joined them on their trip westward to the Sword Coast.

The next day, as the party continued their quest towards the coast their scout, Seth, saw a small cluster of buildings nestled near a hillside in the lowlands before the Starspire Mountains.

Upon investigation of the buildings, they discovered that it was an abandoned Dwarven mining camp, with warning signs.

Dwarf zombies and corpses littered the area, amongst this, Kiva made a valiant attempt to recover a cart of gold ore. She and Antaris sorted through the ore while Seth, Elmmorra, Gnorm, and Drogo proceeded inside to investigate the abandoned mineshaft.

They discovered more corpses, and signs of a large creature that had been burrowing through the extensive network of mining shafts. Although the creature had caused major damage, due to hearty dwarven engineering, the mine shafts are still standing where many others would have collapsed due to structural damage long ago.

Proceeding further into the mine, Seth had the unfortunate experience of stumbling across an old trap of Alchemist Fire, which caused quite the explosion in the mineshaft, drawing the attention of Kiva and Anataris who then met up with the group inside.

Seth was healed and the session was ended before the party went further into the abandoned mine.
