The party exited the entrance to the tunnel and investigated the nearby slope to see if there were alternative means to assaulting the bandit fortress. Kiva discovered a depression within the slope, which hid an entrance set in the rock and dirt . This magical door had concentric circles of symbols needing to be set within the proper order to unlock the door and gain entry.

Once the riddle was solved (it's meaning being "hope"), and the symbols placed by Kalindor, the door opened and allowed them access. They came into a dimly lit underground passage that had some ancient gas-operated sconces embedded within the rock. The party came up to a door that Kiva and Antaris worked on getting open. Once through, they came out into a short hallway with a couple of closed doors. In one room they found Luck Potion, and some money. In the other, they were attack by bloody manacles that held several corpses fast in their grip.

After defeating the corpses, the party raided the room and recovered some magical items. They continued on down the hallway coming against an elementally charged portcullis in which Elmmorra tried to fly through as a small bird, instead the portcullis had a "bug zapper" effect and Crystal's Druid took a small beating. Kalindor and Kiva were able to defeat the door, which alerted several Shadow Hounds (which are kept by slavers to chase down escaping slaves) of which they had battle.

After defeating the Hounds, they investigated an explosives room and recovered three 30-gallon powder kegs (totaling 150lbs each) of which they whisked away in their bags of holding.

For the next door they had to pull on chains synchronized in hidden columns. This opened up into an area of which loud drinking and snoring could be heard from two side corridors that lead to small rooms. The party offed four drunk/sleeping guards, stole their equipment, and locked the door leading to the guard room while they pressed forward.

Opening the main doors, they came upon a prison holding several slaves in small cells. Kalindor discovered a set of controls that were protected by a magic circle of which only allowed humans to pass. The controls were manipulated by Valiant to free the slaves.

Heading upstairs, the party finally found under some canvas and crates their Chandelier! They shrunk it down and stored it in a Bag of Holding, while also working to uncover a portal the fortress had been built around. They setup two of their three powder kegs and set them to blow while Kalindor leaped through the portal, as several of the fortress guards entered. The fortress sustained much damage as the party found themselves in a prayer room somewhere in a temple to Lathander.

They heard fighting and emerged from the room to see a young woman and Tavor fighting desperately against several creatures. As the party rushed forward to help the young woman (who came to be known as Istarel), let loose a massive globe of energy that consumed the party, but unfortunately not before Tavor was cleaved in twain.

The party was then teleported to a strip of land on the Nelanther Isles in the middle of the jungle. Antaris then received a note from home indicating that his brother had gone missing and soon discovered that his brothers airship had been attacked and crashed on the same island that they were on. Istarel could sense a fey life-form some distance away in the jungle and lead the group to the outskirts of what appears to be a large ancient wall surrounding an old city.
