Adventure Summary 01/23/10:
The party pressed forward after fighting the second group of zombies and exited the laboratory into a long and darkly lit hallway. They chose to go left into the hallway and discovered a partially buried dwarf with some bags of treasure and an enchanted bag that held mage equipment and was enchanted to open only for a set command word. Callindor took ownership of the bag and figured out how to get to expose its contents.
Heading back down the hallway they abruptly came to halt with they noticed a specific trembling and rumbling within the corridor. A Giant Worm burst for the side of the tunnel, spraying rock and dust in all directions. It regarded the party for a couple of moments before careening into the other side of the wall and blasting on through the earth.
Continuing down the hall, they came to a small office type room that had various books and desks rotting all about. A second staging area was setup by the dwarves and a partially destroyed stairway heading downwards took them to the second level of the facility. Gnorm and Elmmorra accidentally slipped on the stairwell but gained their footing quickly as the party descended into darkness.
The next room they came into was another office room which upon searching held a key. Once Kiva touched the key they heard a clicking noise from down the hallway, and the room turned frosty cold. The party moved into the hallway and then Antaris went forward and investigated the next room which appeared at one point to be a study hall with various skeletons in positions around the room. Once he gave the all clear, the rest of the party joined him in the room to search for clues and treasure.
Once they entered, the entire room swirled and blurred everyone’s vision for a few moments. Then they discovered they were in the room of thousands of years ago, when everything was new and untouched. From across the room a tall maiden appeared, with long braids of golden hair. Her hair was pulled forward over her face and stumbled forward to the party as if woozy and unstable. She flipped he hair back to reveal a scarred and bloody face staring around the room as if in shock. She seemed to see someone behind the party and beckoned them to help her, but the party could not make out who she was attempting to call to.
All of a sudden, a sword materialized out of the air and loped off her head, sending it rolling upon the floor. Then another appeared along side it and then solidifying around the swords two humanoid figures of inky blackness, reeking with a demonic presence, attacked the party.
It was a hard-fought battle, but the two demons were finally vanquished, the session ended for that night.
